Kate Middleton, a Sensation at the 2026 BAFTA's in a Long Gucci Gown

On the London red carpet, Kate Middleton caused a sensation as she attended the 2026 BAFTA ceremony—her first appearance in three years. Accompanied by her husband, Prince William, she arrived wearing a long lilac and powder-pink chiffon gown, styled with her signature bouncy blow-dry, long earrings, and a sparkling bracelet.

The airy gown, distinguished by its two-tone pleated bodice, V-neckline, and flowing sleeves, was cinched at the waist with a plum velvet belt—a detail coordinated with the suit jacket worn by her husband that evening. He, too, looked impeccably chic in tailored black trousers, a crisp white shirt, a bow tie, and patent leather shoes. The creation, designed by Gucci, had previously been worn by the mother of George, Charlotte, and Louis of Wales in 2019 at a Women in Finance gala dinner.

While Kate Middleton often favors designs by Alexander McQueen and Emilia Wickstead for official engagements. However, this is not her first time turning to Gucci. Memorable moments include her Jackie Kennedy-inspired look worn in 2017 for the inauguration of the new exhibition spaces at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as her violet blouse, which she wore on several occasions between 2019 and 2020.
