Katy Perry’s first picture with her newborn baby

Katy Perry and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, have finally welcomed their first newborn baby on Wednesday 26 August 2020, announcing the big news through UNICEF platform, as they are its goodwill ambassadors.

UNICEF shared the baby news on its Instagram account, posting a picture of Katy and Orlando’s hands holding their baby girl’s after the Roar singer gave birth.

The couple said in a statement through UNICEF:

“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”

“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.”

UNICEF has also announced the baby’s official name, after Katy gave her a funny nickname during her pregnancy, they said: “Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honored to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s new bundle of joy.”
