UAE’s Hope Probe reached Mars on its first attempt making the country the fifth on the list of countries reaching the red planet.
Tuesday night was historical for the United Arab Emirates, its citizens, its residents and the Arabs of the MENA region. As the country launched its Mars mission earlier, 27 minutes were definitely life changing and everyone was waiting patiently. In these 27 minutes, either the probe enters Mars Orbit or it just gets lost in the universe.
"Success! Contact with #HopeProbe has been established again. The Mars Orbit Insertion is now complete," tweeted the mission’s account and that’s when the UAE proved that with hope and belief, everything is possible.
The team working on the probe received admiration and congratulations while social media including twitter, Instagram and Facebook went crazy on the news.
Dubai celebrated the historical event through its one and only Burj Khalifa.
Scenes from the journey to design, build and launch were displayed on the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, in addition to other iconic buildings across the UAE which turned red in honor of the Martian mission Tuesday night.
