3 Saudi Women Appointed as Cultural Attachés

Saudi Arabia is still taking more steps forward to empower Saudi women and provide them with more rights, which comes with the radical changes witnessed in the KSA for the past years.

In the context of women empowerment in Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom has appointed several cultural attachés, including three women, which is considered an unprecedented step for women to be appointed in a diplomatic position in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Education Dr. Hamd al-Sheikh has officially appointed Dr. AmalFatani as the Saudi Arabian cultural attaché to the United Kingdom, Dr. Fahdah al-Sheikh as the Kingdom’s representative in Ireland and Dr. Youssra al-Jazairi as the acting cultural attaché in Morocco.

Appointing Saudi women to work as cultural attachés is “a major initiative to further boost the empowerment of Saudi women to serve their country in all fields and reinforces confidence in the importance of their distinguished role to take part inthe country’s building process,” according to Saudi official newspaper.

The goal is to enhance the Kingdom’s educational and cultural presence at the international level, activate areas of joint cooperation, exchange scientific and research experiences.”
