Several Arab and Western countries showed their solidarity with Lebanese people yesterday, after Beirut blast in the capital’s port, as some countries provided medical aid. The UAE, people and leaders, condoled Lebanon, knowing that there is a huge number of Lebanese expatriates living in the UAE.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, expressed his condolences to Lebanese people, as he shared the picture of Lebanon’s flag, and tweeted: "Our condolences to our beloved people in Lebanon ... Have mercy on those who passed away. Oh God, give people of Lebanon patience and solace."
Also, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan went on twitter to support the Lebanese and tweeted: “Our thoughts and prayers are with our Lebanese brothers and sisters during these trying times. We pray that God grants you patience and solace. God bless Lebanon and the Lebanese people.”
On a side Burj Khalifa in Dubai has lit up with the colors of the Lebanese flag in a gesture of solidarity with Lebanon following the horrific explosion on Tuesday, leaving high number of casualities and damages.
As Lebanon needs donations now more than ever, it is possible; you can donate to the Lebanese Red Cross by downloading their app “Lebanese Red Cross”, sign up for an account, then click Donate and the amount you want.
