Meryl Streep supports Lebanese women

Hollywood star Meryl Streep has joined the list of celebrities who supported Beirut disaster relief and the people who were affected by Beirut blast on August 4th , 2020, Bella Hadid, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Amal and George Clooney to name a few, by donating to Lebanese NGOs, which are working on the ground helping people of Beirut.

 

The Devil Wears Prada star has donated $ 25,000 to support Lebanese women affected by Beirut explosion, which killed dozens of victims and injured thousands of innocents. Meryl Streep gave this amount to the Lebanese NGO "Kafa”, a feminist organization seeking to create a society that is free of social, economic and legal patriarchal structures that discriminate against women.  

 

 

The feminist NGO went on its social media accounts to thank the “best actress of her generation” by sharing her photo with a caption:

“Thank you Meryl Streep for your generous contribution to Kafa’s relief work supporting women and children who lost their loved ones, their houses, or have been injured or traumatized as a result of the Beirut explosion.”

“Your contribution with 25000 USD is not but an additional proof of your support of human rights and particularly women’s rights.”
