Maya Diab steps up to help Beirut children
Scarred by the terrific blast

Childhood is suffering in Lebanon, after Beirut massive explosion claimed the life of Alexandra Najjar, it left permanent scars on the innocent face of the four-year-old girl Yara, one of many children who were affected by the Beirut port blast on August 4, 2020.
Humanitarian aid and initiatives came together for Lebanon disaster relief, including Lebanese star Maya Diab’s humanitarian initiative that is aimed to restore the scarred faces of Beirut children. Maya confirmed that Yara will be the first child to join in, as Maya will help hide the scars that the explosion left on her face.
In this regard, Maya went on Instagram to post a video announcing this humanitarian initiative and calling the affected children to join, she said:
“After the disaster that struck Beirut, many of children’s faces were injured and it breaks my heart. Yara was the first child, who was left with permanent scars on her face as a result of the blast. From the minute I saw her, I felt that I need to help her hide the scars."
Maya confirmed that this humanitarian initiative to restore children's faces was done in collaboration with Humanity Dignity Union and the dermatologist Nada Soueidan, and the process will take place at Nuyu clinics in Verdun.
