The Top 6 Spring 2021 Women’s Watches Trends

No clasp, gold and black duo, vegan variations ... Keep scrolling for an overview of these novelties which set the tone for Spring 2021 women’s watches trends.

The Black Dial

We saw the graphic contrast of a black dial on a jewelry watch. The concept is not exactly  new (Chaumet had also brilliantly tried it on their Boléro watch). And yet, it is the graphic combination that seduces us this season, like this Joséphine Aigrette watch, where the rose gold stand out with style against this engraved black background. We just can’t decide between a case in pink gold, studded with diamonds, or a more sober - and accessible - version in white gold.

The Strong Chain-Link bracelet

Already spotted at Hermès on the Nantucket watch, the curb bracelet this season comes to dress another sizeable model, the RM 07-01 by Richard Mille. A well-thought-out jewel effect that underscores the graphic strength of this tonneau-shaped watch while keeping a light weight thanks to this signature ultra-light TPT carbon alloy.

Neo Clasp

This is the new architectural game that can be found this season at both Chaumet and Dior. We love the surprising shape and the clasp-less bracelet. A new visual signature that pushes the boundaries between watchmaking and jewelry a little further for a Couture-inspired look.

A Feminine Skeleton

If this season, the new design in gold and diamonds from the iconic Bvlgari Serpenti (revisited in a Spiga Version) is catching all eyes, the new Lvcea from the Italian house is also worth the look. We loved the new draped mother-of-pearl dial, but above all for this very first skeletonized dial brought to a feminine timepiece. A first that comes in the wake of the Serpenti Seduttori tourbillon, a pioneer in the field (complications for women unfortunately still remain a minority).

A Vegan Variation

Finding an alternative to the traditional animal leather bracelet is the current obsession of manufacturers in Switzerland. If IWC has just proposed a new TimberTex alloy to adorn its star male watch Portofino, made up of 80% natural plant fibers (with cellulose from sustainable European forests), others like Tissot are already ready to throw themselves into the battle. For the reboot of its Memphis watch from the 80s, the house dresses this unique arty dial with an interchangeable black synthetic leather strap.

All-white

The Rado house had been going for color block lately. The round curves of the True Thinline, always cut from a single batch of ceramic, reviewed and corrected by the Dutch talent scout Li Edelkoort. The result? A pristine watch, where time seems to disappear, as if swallowed up by this white paradise.
